The Blogospherez: I has it.

So, I have a few reasons for creating this blog.

1. I miss my Florence blogging.
2. My great uncles and aunts all have access to that blog, so I need a new forum (see: http://mollyafirenze.blogspot.com/).
3. I found a script online that allowed me to block facebook on my computer. Forever. i.e. I have no idea how to reverse it. I need another outlet. This seems educational.
4. I want to be more like my fun loving, blogging friends. IE: Mariel.

That about does it.

For my first blopic (anticipate future wordplay), there are a few assorted things I've been needing to get off my chest.

Self-reflection: good idea, or bad idea? I think it's probably about balance. Like, not so much so that it leads to self-absorption. If I can make that a noun. And not so little that it leads to ass-hole status (you know the type, that do and don't think). Hm.

Secondly, if you'll allow me some self-absorption: It bothers me that there are disciplines out there that are completely inaccessible to me. Like engineering. At this point, there is no way I could understand an engineering paper. Or a complex math proof. I feel entire worlds blocked off from my understanding. What if I wanted to make digital art from binary scratch? I couldn’t do that now, but I think it would give me a deep sense of satisfaction. For me, the grass is always greener on the other side of academics, which has kind of been the theme of my life interests in general.

And lastly, I would totally date Jonathan Safran Foer. And damnit, Wikipedia claims that he is married and with child. Kind of hot in that literary Jewish kind of way. Or that Harry Potter kind of way. You decide.
